Core System
The Universe
How BenchOS organizes protein, construct, mutant, annotation, and lab-specific knowledge into a richer scientific context layer.
A lab-specific knowledge layer
The Universe is the place where public biological context and private lab knowledge can meet. It helps teams keep annotations, mutants, constructs, protein information, and project-specific interpretation available in one system.
Beyond a generic protein page
BenchOS can treat a protein as more than a static reference entry. Lab-specific constructs, variants, observations, linked records, files, and notes can all become part of the working view.
The goal is UniProt-style context enriched with what the lab actually knows and has produced.
Benchmate can use this context
Because The Universe sits in the same operating system as records and notebook entries, Benchmate can use this knowledge when helping with design, interpretation, planning, and follow-up work.
